Data Engineer
Roles & Responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience as a Data Engineer or Business Data Engineer in enterprise environments
- Interpret, process, and analyze data to produce insightful, ongoing reports for collaborators
- Design, implement, and maintain databases, data collection systems, analytics solutions, and strategies to optimize data efficiency and quality
- Build, maintain, and support visualization platforms and applications, providing reliable production support operations (e.g., Power BI, Power Platform)
- Contribute to the full lifecycle (design, build, test, maintenance, production support) for visualization platforms and applications
- Acquire and integrate data from various primary and secondary sources; maintain robust databases and data systems
- Identify, analyze, and interpret meaningful trends and patterns within complex data sets
- Collaborate with management to prioritize business and information needs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
- Apply advanced knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle) and ETL tools (e.g., DBT, Fivetran, Talend, Informatica, SSIS) to build efficient data pipelines
- Develop, schedule, and monitor data workflows applying tools such as Apache Airflow
- Apply strong analytical skills to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large volumes of information with accuracy and attention to detail
- Design and implement queries, scripts, stored procedures, and reports; communicate and present findings effectively
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data reliability and operational efficiency
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for business-as-usual (BAU) data solutions
- Apply data analysis techniques to investigate, interpret, and document data structures and processes
Mandatory Skills
- Proficiency with database technologies such as SQL, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Oracle, Netezza, or Teradata
- Experience with ETL/data integration tools including DBT, Talend, Informatica, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Fivetran, etc.
- Foundational knowledge of data integration and ETL processes
- Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow
- Expertise in visualization services and tools (Power BI, Power Platform)
- Programming skills in Python, especially with Pandas and NumPy libraries
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in cross-cultural team environments
- Analytical attitude with proactive problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Experience with Service Management tools, preferably ServiceNow
Desired Skills
- Experience working with financial data sets
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services (S3, SQS, Lambda)
- Additional expertise with the Apache Airflow platform
- Experience with version control systems, especially Git
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field
- Experience:4 to 6 years of relevant professional experience
